#CaptureYourGrief: Day 2 – Who they are

WHO THEY ARE | Share about your beautiful children today. Who are they? When were they born? How long did you have them for? What is their name? Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

My children were not beautiful to me.  Not at first.  My sons, Nathan and Lincoln, were born nearly 5 years ago.  We had them for 31 weeks in the womb with all their tiny kicks and sharking and sonographer teasing antics.

We then had one day with them in what should have been their going home outfits.  A day to cuddle them and pretend they were alive.  A day to pose for terrible photos of a grotesque parody of parenthood and moments of unintentional humour.

We then had an hour in their company surrounded by an audience of teddy bears.

They are now with us in our home.

They will be in our hearts forever.  Their stillbirth does not negate their existence.  They are our sons and we love them.
